that is also a very nice plugin to make the comments section user friendly for the non HTML users

Great choices, Nick. I prefer WP-Spamfree to Akismet because I don’t have to mess around with the API key, and it gives you a nice simple contact form.
Also check out Google Analyticator – it pulls info from your Analytics account and displays it on the dashboard.
